The performance and installation Penetrable Armour is a transformation of materials for the purpose of survival. It examines what is visible and what remains hidden. Once experienced acts of violence become embedded in the body. These wounds though invisible, continue to bleed over time. Trauma is time travelling, the past re-experienced physically at any moment. Art functions as a practice in catharsis- acknowledging and working through fear. By externalizing these emotions through artistic expression, it offers a way to decode, unravel and purge. The process of making art becomes a relentless act of survival and a means to heal from within.
